Greetings! and welcome you all on this wonderful day!
As we meet today, let us unite in the spirit of peace, remembering that we are all beings with the power to love Let us take a moment to center ourselves in that place within, where we can feel our divinity. There is a sacred sanctuary within. When we go there we feel free, completely loving and joyful. When we go there we feel divinely connected to each other and to the Universe. This is the goal of Meditation. Let’s continue our sacred journey in earnest towards our “Pilgrimage to self”.
The Self within is already perfect. Though the Self within is free and untainted it is unaware of its own freedom. This illusion is called Maya in Sanskrit. The Self in its state of ignorance thinks it is limited. It is caught up in the feelings of failure, unhappiness, fear, loneliness, insecurity and lack of wisdom. It has assumed an identity in this ignorance of its true nature that we call the ego. This ego therefore lives in self-confinement. It thinks in terms of limitation and does not realize the great power that exists at its source.
When you think that you are lacking in knowledge and that you are incapable of learning or knowing, the more you live in this self-confinement. When you think that you cannot feel true love and tend to believe that it does exist in the human experience, you have imposed limitations on your emotional being. When you observe the mind in its restlessness and feel powerless to control it, you give up your power to your servant. When you look at your aging and perishable body feeling that it is growing old and that one day you will die, you deny the immortality of your spiritual being. How can one be happy with this state of affairs?
It is only you who can forge your way out of this shackles of ignorance into the freedom of your powerful spiritual being. No one can do it for you. So until you make that vital decision, it implies that you have accepted to live in your self-imposed area of darkness and self-confinement.
Let’s give up our tenacious hold of the material world and create a desire to live in a state of higher awareness and energy. Create a desire to experience love in its purest form and to experience all that you are: body, mind and spirit. Take responsibly for this goal. It is your most powerful goal and hopefully it will be your most cherished. When you take a step to realize your own true power, the Universe will respond to help you. It will guide you. ‘Seek and ye shall find’; ‘Knock and it shall be opened to you’ the Bible says. Contemplate on the great truth in these powerful sayings.
When you begin the search for your true Self, the Universe will guide you to people, places and literature, where you find the
inspiration to go deeper within your own being. When you become awakened to this guidance, you will realize that it is ever with you and is coming from your Higher Self. This is your true Guru – the divine power within.
May you know your true Self. May you realize your own power. May you desire your own freedom. May you take another great step today to realize your own greatness. Do not simply worship the greatness of others; let it be an inspiration for you to realize your own greatness.
Observe the events of the day carefully as they unfold and try to understand the significance of each event. Life is our greatest teacher and guide. Learn to see the lessons and rewards that the universe sends you every day. Open your eyes!
