1 Raga, Dvesha and Moha 'Attraction, Aversion and Attachment. These three are the principle contents of our mentation. At any given point, if we intercept our thought-process with our attention and observe, the content of the passing thought at that moment will contain one of these three ingredients. Even unconsciously, we are pre-occupied with these mental arsenals, gunning imaginarily for something or other! All those stuffs, our thought-process is running after are indeed illusory and hence are unconnected for factual living. It is only a deep-seated psychotic habit of mind, which is playing itself out endlessly. Compassionately understanding this situation, can open the door of freedom from the ego habit! Let us earnestly begin.
2 Renunciation Traditionally, when a person embarks on religious/spiritual quest, leaving behind his/her householder's life (Worldly-life), it is said to be renunciation. Whereas, intrinsically, renunciation means the psychological freedom from popular worldlyvalue-system and a spontaneous (Not cultivated) acute inner clarity about the psyche's death pangs. One need not and also CANNOT discard fear and attachment by exercising one's will and volition. When an appropriate inner clarity takes place due to DIRECT-PERCEPTION into the ultimate TRUTH of existence, fears and attachments fall off, without any effort. Until then, even a herculean effort cannot succeed in removing a tiny tip of our deep-rooted fears and attachments.
